Client’s Space Dilemma:
- · Site line from Existing Family Room to Breakfast Nook not desired.
- · A larger, eat-in Kitchen requested.
- · Island with seating requested in New Kitchen.
- · Existing Front Porch not covered, and lacking in substance.
- · Existing back porch not covered, and beginning to deteriorate.
Designer’s Solution:
- · Existing Breakfast Nook removed. Casual Dining combined in New Kitchen with maximized water view through new windows.
- · Counterspace / cabinets in Kitchen doubled (including new island with seating).
- · New Bar provided in New Kitchen with direct access to New Screened Waterside Porch.
- · New columns and rooftop balcony added in New Front Porch and Waterside Porch design.
- · New windows and french doors added between Existing Family Room and New Waterside Porch to coordinate with new columns.
Architectural Highlights:
- · All Kitchen equipment and finishes updated.
- · New Columns / Pilasters at porches.
- · Handrail design at rooftop balconies above porches.
